Dino the Vegetarian Dinosaur

Dino the Vegetarian Dinosaur

Dino the Vegetarian Dinosaur

There once lived a dinosaur by the name of Dino. He was a T-Rex, which meant he was a great big scary dinosaur who by nature ate other dinosaurs. Or at least he should have been. But Dinosaur the dinosaur was a vegetarian. His parents disapproved of his life choices. One day they sent him to the forest with his older brother George, so that he could learn how a T-Rex was supposed to behave. George was more than happy to show Dino how good he was at scaring and eating the other animals.

"ROAR!" he roared as he stomped through the trees. "SCREE!" he screeched as he chased a raptor.

"George wait!" Dino shouted after his brother. "I don't want to do this."

His brother stopped. "Dino, you have to eat!"

"I do eat!" protested Dino. He lifted his head and ate the leaves on the nearest tree, and tried to hide the look of disgust on his face as he swallowed them. "See? Delicious!"

"We're not meant to eat leaves," George said exasperatedly. "We're meant to eat animals – we’re carnivores, big scary ones!"

"But I want to be friends with the other animals," Dino said sadly. "Why do we always have to be so anti-social?"

George sighed. "Dino, do you want to know why our mouths are so big and our arms are so small? It's because we were made to eat things, not hug things!"

"Aha!" George pounced on something in the bushes. He came back to Dino with a big grin on his face, and a squealing raptor between his teeth. Dino watched in horror.

"Let him go, George!" Dino begged. "Why can't we be nice to him?

"Theresch nuffink nicshe about the food chain," George said with his mouth full. "Eat thisch raptor or I will."

Dino thought for a moment, before dashing off in horror. The raptor broke free in the confusion and followed Dino to thank him. The next George's family heard from him, Dino was a worldwide success with his new vegetarian food range. He also had many friends from many different animal families. They all loved him and accepted him as one of their own. He especially loved the smaller animals, although he struggled to fit around their dinner tables for tea!

Dino has chosen to follow his life dreams, and he had never been happier.
